Pathway, orientation and careers
Understand progression from the preparatory cycle to the Second Cycle and the main career areas for graduates.
The curriculum comprises two foundation years followed by three years in the Second Cycle. Admission to the Second Cycle is subject to success in the national competitive examination under the rules set by the ministry responsible for higher education.
Orientation takes account of the examination result, the student’s stated preferences and available capacity. Students may enter an ESSBO specialisation or another school in the same field of study.
The programmes prepare graduates for research and development, analysis and quality-control laboratories, diagnostics, biotechnology, and the food and environmental sectors. They also support scientific entrepreneurship and progression to doctoral study, subject to the applicable admission requirements.
